America, Anytime- IN PROGRESS Excerpt: TITLE UP: “America, Anytime” EXT: UNDER BRIDGE ASIDE RIVER-DAWN-ESTABLISHING Dressed in the TATTERED RAGS of a humble HOBO, ROGER (32) is making a cup of coffee with a hole-ridden pot, used coffee grinds, and a garbage fire. He drinks his coffee in a BARBIE MUG, stirs it with a SILVER SPOON and glares at a rat in the river as it hoists itself up on to a piece of wood. ROGER closes his eyes and then opens them. When they open, we no longer see a look of sorrow or bewilderment but one that means business. MONTAGE-CONTINUOUS ACTION INT. HOBO SHACK 1) ROGER reaches into a hidden cardboard closet and pulls out an ARMANI SUIT and TIE. Methodically, he puts it on. EXT. RIVERSIDE-MORNING 2) ROGER is fully dressed in a black, pin-striped Armani suit with BABY BLUE SHIRT underneath and WING-TIPPED SHOES. He is slicking back his hair with remnants of BUTTER he scored from last night’s garbage search and uses a CHEAP BLACK COMB. Uses POLLUTED RIVER WATER to splash his face. A piece of MOSS gets stuck to his eyelid and he casually reaches up and scrapes it off. He then runs through his daily MANTRA in preparation for his transformation to MR. OLEMAN (the pseudonym he uses as CEO). ROGER (to himself) Once I hit that bus, I become MR OLEMAN. Once I become MR. OLEMAN, I am successful.
